Another NBA team has joined the Melo-drama.
The defending NBA champions LA Lakers is reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Denver Nuggets superstar forward Carmelo Anthony.
One of the starters for this year’s Western Conference All-Star squad, Anthony has been the subject of trade rumors since he declined to sign a 3-year, $65 million extension with the Nuggets last summer.
He was almost dealt to the New Jersey Nets earlier this season but for only-God-knows-why reasons, it was called off.
With the Lakers’ on-court inconsistencies at various parts of the ongoing season, the team is looking to make a trade package involving Andrew Bynum for Carmelo Anthony.
Ron Artest is a large part of the team’s struggles as he now seems to lack the motivation ever since he got is first championship ring with the Lakers last season.
Andrew Bynum meanwhile has huge upside but a series of knee injuries throughout his six-year career has impeded his growth.
Carmelo Anthony is coming off a 50-point, 11-rebound performance yesterday in a losing effort against the Houston Rockets.
The trade deadline is on February 24, 2011.
He might not necessarily be in a Lakers uniform but I bet that Carmelo is wearing another team uniform one by then.

Melo should chose a championship-caliber team. Lebron, Wade and Bosh will get their rings soon. Poor Melo will be sent into oblivion if he will chose money over ring.
