We should be grateful for Thomas Alva Edison.
Without the man dubbed as “The Wizard of Menlo Park”, the world would be still dark at night, we couldn’t watch movies and even listen to music.
As the inventor of the light bulb, the motion picture camera and the phonograph, Edison greatly influenced our everyday lives.
So, in honor of his 164th birthday, Google has in its homepage today a doodle where the letters of its logo features a diagram of Edison’s inventions.
Thomas Alva Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio, USA. He is considered one of the most prolific inventors in history, holding 1,093 US patents in his name, as well as many patents in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. He is credited with numerous inventions that contributed to mass communication and, in particular, telecommunications.
