FIGHT DETAILS: UFC Light Heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua defends his title for the first time against upcoming fighter Jon Jones.

Rua from Brazil (19 wins – 4 losses, 16 KOs/1 submission) is currently ranked as the #1 Light Heavyweight fighter in the world, #4 pound for pound best fighter in the world by Yahoo! and the #6 pound for pound best fighter in the world by Sherdog.

He became the UFC Light Heavyweight champion when he knocked out then champion Lyoto Machida at UFC 113.

Jones from USA (12 wins – 1 loss, 7 KOs/3 submissions) is ranked the #5 light heavyweight fighter in the world by Sherdog.com. He is noted for having the longest reach in UFC history at 84.5 in (215 cm).

In his last fight at UFC 126, he defeated Ryan Bader via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:20 of round 2.

FIGHT RESULT: Jones knocked out Rua at 2:37 of round 3 to become the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
