FIGHT DETAILS: 2010 Fighter of the Year and Pound for Pound contender Sergio Martinez takes on undefeated Ukranian Sergiy Dzindziruk for the vacant WBC Diamond belt. Martinez vacated the WBC middleweight in order to face Sergiy.

Argentinian Martinez (46 wins – 2 losses – 2 draws, 25 KOs) is the current Ring World Middleweight Champion, and the former WBC World Middleweight titlist, he is also the former WBC Super Welterweight Champion. Ring Magazine currently rates Martinez as the number three pound-for-pound boxer in the world. In addition, The Ring Magazine also named Sergio Martinez their 2010 Fighter of the Year.

Ukrainian Dzinziruk (37 wins – 0 losses, 23 KOs) is the current WBO super welterweight champion.

FIGHT RESULT: Martinez stopped Sergiy Dzinziruk in the eighth round, knocking down the Ukrainian middleweight three times Saturday night at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Casino.  Referee Arthur Mercante Jr. stopped the bout at 1:43 of the eighth after Martinez sent Dzinziruk down for the third time.
