UFC 128 Results, Jon Jones Knocks Out Shogun Rua To Become Youngest Champion in UFC History!
Category: MMA
Heading into this fight, Jon “Bones” Jones is the heavy favorite to win over UFC Light Heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
With his combination of power, length, speed and with a killer instinct, he is the most hyped young fighter since B.J. Penn first came into the scene 10 years ago.
In the main event of UFC 128, Jones did not disappoint as he overwhelmed Shogun with elbows, knees, kicks, punches and hammers until the champion could take it no more and simply quit at the 2:37 mark of the 3rd Round after catching a mean left hook to his body.
It was such a dominating performance by Jones that you would hardly believed he was fighting the number four ranked pound for pound best fighter in the world.
Possessing the longest reach in UFC history, he kept Rua at bay when on their feet. In the clinch, he just grab his opponent’s head to deliver nasty knees to the body. And on the ground, he pummeled the champ with his vicious elbows and heavy hands.
With his win, Jon Jones grabbed the UFC Light Heavyweight title to become the youngest champion in UFC history at age 23.

I would pay to watch Anderson Silva vs Jon Jones. That would be the Fight of the Year.

I doubt that. Silva has said that he will not climb to the Lightheayweight division anymore. For this to happen, Jones should drop weight.

No doubt that Jones deserved his win over Rua, but you can`t deny the fact that Rua was coming from a 10 month recovery from cirgury. The same way that he came back almost a dead corpse on the fight against Mark Coleman, then lost to Forrest and only after Chuck Lidell he got his rythem back.
But again, i`m only saying that if he was 100% the fight could be closer and even better fought, but Jon Jones is the next level of fighters in the sport.
Regarding fighting Anderson, Jones must win a few more fights please, Anderson has been dominating for the last 5 years, but it would be a great fight to see!
