Lebron, Wade and Bosh Post Rare 30-10 Points-Rebounds Feat

2010-11 NBA Season | Miami Heat Big Three Post Rare 30-10 Points-Rebounds Feat

Category: Basketball

With the cry-gate scandal behind them, the Miami Thrice is finally starting to live up to the hype.

In a 125-119 win over the Houston Rockets today, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh each posted at least 30 points and 10 rebounds for their fifth straight win and eight in nine games.

Lebron had 33 points and 10 rebounds, Wade had 30 and 11 and Bosh added 31 and 12.

How rare is this feat?

Last February 26, 2010, Kevin Martin, Aaron Brooks and Luis Scola each scored at least 30 points for the Houston Rockets… but without the double-digit rebounding numbers.

Last November 14, 1997, 13 years ago, Isaiah Rider, Brian Grant and Arvydas Sabonis each accomplished this 30+ points 10+ rebounds feat… but it required them 4 overtime periods.

The last time a team had three players score at least 30 and corralled at least 10 rebounds in the same game… and in a non-overtime game was 50 years ago when Oscar Robertson, Jack Twyman and Wayne Embry of the Cincinnati Royals did it on February 1961. Those three are already in the Hall of Fame.

If the much-criticized Miami Heat trio lived up to their hype, silence the critics and win multiple championships, they might someday enter the Hall too.

It was fourth time this season Wade, Bosh and James combined to score at least 90 points. It was the first time in Heat history that three different players score 30 in the same game.

  1. Spoiler Says:

If it was a 3 on 3, the trio will surely eat up the competition. Unfortunately, NBA basketball is a 5-man game. And in the playoffs, they will surely get killed by more balanced squads like the Celtics and the Bulls. They have to get their other teammates involved too.
