Last year, many were surprised by Google’s announcement that as of 1AM of April 1, it has officially changed its name to Topeka.
Many immediately caught on to it which was dismissed as just an April Fool’s Day prank.
This year, Google is at it again. But this time, it has been fooling around with fonts.
When you enter the word “comic sans” at the search bar, the search results page will all be in Comic Sans font style.
Considered as the most hated type of font, check out the screenshot below of the search results page to know why.
In a serious context like this, using the font is inappropriate due to its child-like appearance.
This is why Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was criticized last year for using the font in his open letter against Lebron James.
This Google prank applies to the almost similar Helvetica font style as well.
