The premiere episode of the 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter seems to be three season episodes all rolled into one.
The fighter introduction, coaches introduction, wildcard rules explanation, coaches evaluation of the fighters, fighter selection, mad dash inside the house to select their bedrooms, first training session, first injury and consequent fighter replacement, first official fight, first Brock Lesnar reaction after a loss – it’s all here.
If it was another season, all of that could be painstakingly subdivided into three episodes already. Not that I am complaining though.
Anyway just to recap, here’s the fighter selection for each team:
Team Lesnar: Len Bentley, Charles Rader, Tony Ferguson, Clay Harvison, Myles Jury, Chris Cope, Nordin Asrih
Team Dos Santos: Shamar Bailey, Ryan McGillivray, Javier Torres, Ramsey Nijem, Zach Davis, Mick Bowman, Keon Caldwell
FIRST MATCH: #1 Shamar Bailey vs #7 Nordin Asrih
RESULT: Bailey defeats Asrih via unanimous decision after two rounds of being on top
At the end of Episode 1, it’s Team dos Santos 1, Team Lesnar 0.
