FIGHT DETAILS: Georges “Rush” St-Pierre defends his UFC Welterweight Championship from Jake Shields.

Canadian St-Pierre (21 wins – 2 losses, 8 KOs / 5 submissions) is the current Welterweight Champion of the UFC. St-Pierre is ranked as the number #1 Welterweight in the world according to Sherdog. He is also ranked as the #2 “pound for pound” fighter by Yahoo! Sports and #1 P4P by Sherdog.

In his last fight at UFC 124 last December 11, 2010, he won via Unanimous Decision against Josh Koscheck.

American Shields (26 wins – 4 losses, 3 KOs / 11 submissions) is the first and last Elite XC Welterweight Champion. He is also the former Shooto Middleweight Champion and is the former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion.

In his last fight at UFC 121 last October 23, 2010, he won via a controversial split decision to Martin Kampmann.

FIGHT RESULT: St-Pierre defeated Shields via unanimous decision (50-45, 48-47, 48-47) to retain the UFC Welterweight Championship.
