FIGHT DETAILS: Two former Light Heavyweight Champions faces off in a match set to determine the next challenger to current champion Jon Jones title. This will be the second fight between the two as they previously fought to a draw at UFC 73 on July 2007.

American Ortiz (17 wins – 8 losses, 8 KOs/3 submissions) is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Ortiz ultimately became the biggest pay-per-view draw of 2006 for his fights with Liddell, Forrest Griffin, and Ken Shamrock.

He was fresh off a submission victory over Ryan Bader at UFC 132 just a month ago.

American Evans (15 wins – 1 loss, 2 KOs/2 submissions) is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Evans is currently ranked as the #3 Light Heavyweight fighter in the world by Sherdog, MMAWeekly. and Yahoo! Sports.

His last fight was at UFC 114 where he won over Rampage Jackson via Unanimous Decision.

    Naku talo dito si Ortiz ni Evans. Mas malaki kasi si Evans at saka mas bata kay Ortiz. His victory over Ortiz guaranteed a title shot against the Jones – “Rampage” winner, something that’s been a long time coming. It’s a win-win situation for the UFC as Evans has a beef with both men and whoever wins will guarantee a big money fight for the promotion. Expect to see Tito against the upcoming loser of the Forrest Griffin vs. Mauricio Rua fight at UFC 134. Both fights would be compelling as Ortiz has split a pair of bouts with Griffin and a match with “Shogun” would certainly be compelling. Other options are either Rich Franklin or Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, depending on if those two actually fight each other or not.
