FIGHT DETAILS: Vitali Klitschko defends his WBC heavyweight championship title against Tomasz Adamek.

Ukrainian Klitschko (42 wins – 2 losses, 39 KOs) is the current WBC world heavyweight champion and previously held the WBO and WBC titles.

Polish Adamek (44 wins – 1 loss, 28 KOs) is the former WBC world light heavyweight champion and former IBF, IBO and The Ring magazine cruiserweight champion.

FIGHT RESULT: Klitschko successfully defended his WBC heavyweight title, stopping a reeling and hurting Adamek in the 10th round when referee Massimo Barrovecchio stepped in to stop the beatdown.

It simply came down to size. He was not big enough, and he couldn’t get past the Klitschko jab, which busted up Adamek’s face over the course of the fight. On two occasions, Adamek was knocked into the ropes with right hands, though only one was called a knockdown, and both should have been.
