Chris Paul Traded to Los Angeles Clippers

Let the CP3 – Blake Show begin!

As early as July of last year, rumors have been circulating that top NBA point guard Chris Paul wants out of the New Orleans Hornets in favor of either three teams, the New York Knicks, the Orlando Magic or the LA Lakers.

Part of that has become true as Paul is now out of New Orleans and will now head to Los Angeles. Not with the Lakers though but the Clippers.

In exchange for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and a 2012 first-round pick, Chris Paul is traded to the Clippers.

As part of the deal, Paul has agreed to not opt out of his contract after this season – allowing the Clippers to keep him at least through the 2012-13 season.

If not for a veto by NBA commissioner David Stern, Paul should have gone to the Lakers in a three-team deal with the Houston Rockets.

Instead of joining Kobe, he will now have 2011 Rookie of the Year Blake  Griffin as his parnter in an exciting uptempo offense that will surely feature the duo in sports show highlights every night.
