The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 | Jacob Imprints on Renesmee SceneCategory: Entertainment
In Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Jacob Black imprints on Renesmee Cullen after seeing her for the first time.
Imprinting is the involuntary mechanism by which Quileute shape-shifters find their soul-mates.
According to Jacob,
“It’s not like love at first sight, really. It’s more like… gravity moves…. suddenly. It’s not the earth holding you here anymore, she does…. You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that’s a protector, or a lover, or a friend.”
Once shape-shifters have imprinted, they will feel the need to constantly be in their soulmate’s presence and to unconditionally give them whatever they want or need
Jacob’s imprinting on Renesmee helps end the warring tension between the Cullens and the werewolves, because while she is imprinted on, she becomes untouchable to the other wolves because there is a law within the tribe that if a wolf imprints, the person they imprinted upon was not to be harmed.
