2011-12 NBA Season | Jeremy Lin Scores 38 Points vs Kobe and the Lakers [Highlights Video]Category: Basketball
Before the Los Angeles Lakers vs New York Knicks game, Kobe Bryant was asked about Jeremy Lin.
In his usual straight-forward, not-really-friendly manner, he replied,
“I know who he is, but I don’t really know what’s going on too much with him. I don’t even know what he’s done. Like, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I’ll take a look at it tonight though.”
“I don’t even know what the [fudge] is going on. What the [fudge] is going on? Who is this kid? I’ve heard about him and stuff like that, but what’s he been doing? Is he getting like triple doubles or some [stuff]? He’s averaging 28 and eight? No [stuff]. If he’s playing well, I’ll just have to deal with him.”
Asked if he would consider guarding Lin,
“Jesus Christ. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
After the game, Kobe might now have known who really Lin is as the NBA’s first American-born player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent torched the Lakers for a career high 38 points (on 13 of 23 shooting), had 7 assists and 4 rebounds as his team win 92-85.
And yes, he also outplayed Kobe who ‘only’ managed 34 points on 11 of 29 shooting, 10 rebounds and 1 assist.
This is Lin’s third consecutive start and what a week it has been. The Knicks have now won four consecutive games since Lin blasted his way into prominence. And he has become bigger as he truly shone in this nationally-televised Knicks vs Lakers game.
