Out of the original 68 teams all over the USA that started the March Madness, four teams stood tall above all them.

After five grueling rounds, teams slowly bowed down one by one until only 4 college basketball teams remain. This is why it’s known as the March Madness. Blink… and boom! You’re out of the single-elimination tournament.

Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State and Kansas, they are the Final Four.

Battling with grits and wits, those teams survived their Elite Eight matchups to advance to the Final Four.

They are the NCAA Final Four 2011 teams.

And they will be battling it out for supremacy over the right to be called the NCAA champions.

The Kentucky Wildcats represent the University of Kentucky. They are the #1 seed for the South Region with a 36-2 record. The team is the winningest in the history of college basketball, both in all-time wins and all-time winning percentage. Kentucky has played in 15 Final Fours (4th place all time), and has 10 NCAA championship game appearances (tied for second place all time with Duke), winning 7 NCAA championships (second only to UCLA all time). Its last title was in 1998, 13 years ago.

The Louisville Cardinals represent the University of Louisville. They are the #4 seed for the West Region with a 30-9 record. It is the 16th winningest college basketball team in NCAA Division I history with the 9th best winning percentage. The Cardinals have won two NCAA championships (1980, 1986) and been to nine Final Fours (6th all time) in 38 NCAA tournament appearances (5th all time) while compiling 64 tournament wins (6th all time).

The Ohio State Buckeyes represent the Ohio State University. They are the #2 seed for the East Region with a 31-7 record. The Buckeyes won their only National Championship in 1960 and have made a total of 21 NCAA Tournament appearances. The Ohio State University is one of only two teams (the other being Villanova) to make an NCAA tournament appearance every decade since the 1930s.

The Kansas Jayhawks represent the University of Kansas. They are the #2 seed for the Midwest Region with a 31-7 record. Kansas has the longest current streak of consecutive NCAA tournament appearances (23), holds the second-longest current streak of winning seasons (28), has the most winning seasons in Division I history (93), and the most non-losing seasons (.500 or better) in NCAA history (96). Further, Kansas holds the record for the most conference championships in Division I history (55), the most First Team Americans in Division I history (20), the most First Team All American Selections in Division I history (27), is third in Division I all time winning percentage (.720), and is second in Division I all time wins (2,069).

The NCAA Final Four 2012 bracket would be:

1st matchup: Kentucky vs Louisville

2nd matchup: Ohio State vs Kansas

The 2012 NCAA Basketball Tournament will conclude with the championship game on April 2 at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, USA.
