Now that you have already created the Staff of Herding by giving the Blacksmith the recipe as well as the ingredients, it’s time to find out where the Diablo 3 secret level is.

In order to get to it, you must beat the game first just like in Diablo 2′s secret cow level.

Return to Act 1 and walk from New Tristram to the Old Tristram Road. You will find a red glowing pit with a cow in front of it. That’s the Cow King’s Ghost, a spectral bovine from Diablo 2.

Give him the Staff of Herding and he starts to talk. The red glowing pit then changes to a rainbow color and it becomes a clickable dungeon entrance.

Welcome to Whimsyshire – The Land of Killer Unicorns!

Inside, you will find unicorns, bears, rainbows, flowers and other sort of colorful things – a reference to complaints gathered by the game creators and designers that the game was too colorful and bright and too cartoonish.

When you enter it, you get a a Feat of Strength along with a Banner and Sigil. You can run the Whimsyshire level as many times as you want and you will get the In The Land Of Killer Unicorns Achievement for finding it.
