In his usual straight-forward, not-really-friendly manner, he replied,

“I know who he is, but I don’t really know what’s going on too much with him. I don’t even know what he’s done. Like, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I’ll take a look at it tonight though.”

NBA All-Star Reserves 2012

Last year, the Boston Celtics became just the second team in history to have four players picked as reserves for the All-Star Game by the coaches with it’s Big Four of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo.

This year, only Pierce is coming back. Garnett wasn’t chosen after 14 consecutive selections.

Jeremy Lin who?

Before his coming-out party this week, Lin’s claim to fame is that he is the first American player in the NBA to be of Chinese or of Taiwanese descent. That’s opposed to Yao Ming who is purely a Chinese national for those who might ask.

Lin who graduated from Harvard entered the 2010 NBA Draft but went undrafted. If drafted, Lin would have been the first Ivy Leaguer selected by the NBA since Jerome Allen of Pennsylvania in the second round in 1995.

With a threee-pointer in the second quarter of a 90-95 loss over the Philadelphia 76ers today, Kobe Bryant has surpassed former teammate Shaquille O’Neal to move into 5th place in the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Shaq who had retired last season made 28,596 points in his 19-year career and is now relegated to 6th.

Picked 13th in the 1996 NBA Draft, Kobe is currently playing in his 16th year.

Kobe said of the achievement,

“All the battles we’ve been in, the playoff battles, the duo that we’ve been able to form. When you (consider) the championships, it makes it a little more significant.”
