This Sunday, August 1, 2010; at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California, USA, two light heavyweight fighters will clash in the main event of UFC Live: Jones vs. Matyushenko.

Jon “Bones” Jones takes on Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko in the second LIVE UFC event to be broadcast on  a national sports cable network.

UFC Live: Jones vs. Matyushenko will air live on the VERSUS channel this Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 9 PM ET marking the second showing of the Ultimate Fighting Championship on VERSUS.

Its debut was at UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones last March 21, 2010.

When Frankie Edgar met BJ Penn in the co-main event of UFC 112 last April 10, 2010 at Abu Dhabi, no one gave him a chance to win.

After all, Penn has defended his UFC lightweight title three consecutive times against top competition: Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez.

Penn is also regarded at that time as the #1 lightweight in the world and was only the second fighter to win UFC titles in two different weight classes (Randy Couture is the other).

Stephen “The American Psycho” Bonnar and Krzysztof “The Polish Experiment” Soszynski first met at UFC 110.

Soszynski was victorious via third round TKO due to a cut, though the victory was shadowed by an accidental headbutt that caused the cut, creating controversy over the victory.

In the undercard for UFC 116: Lesnar vs Carwin held on July 3, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, the two fighters met again in a rematch. The fight was awarded “Fight of the Night” alongside the Leben vs Akiyama fight, giving all the fighters an extra $75,000 to their pay.
