Out of the original 65 basketball teams all over the USA that started the March Madness, only two teams managed to beat the odds and qualified for the NCAA championship game on April 5, 2010, 9:21 PM ET at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
The Duke University’s Blue Devils and the Butler University’s Bulldogs survived five grueling rounds in the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament to reach the finals and battle it out for supremacy over the right to be called the NCAA champions for the 2009-10 season.
Duke steamrolled over West Virginia while Butler won a very close game against Michigan State in their respective NCAA Final Four 2010 games last April 3, 2010 to set up a Duke vs Butler NCAA championship game between two private schools in 25 years since when Villanova and Georgetown met in 1985.

The Butler Bulldogs don’t seem like they belong here but they do.
After all, this is the team’s first appearance in the NCAA championship game and they never even had been to the Elite Eight before this season. And their school, Butler University is a small private school with just over 4,000 students.

After four grueling rounds in the ongoing 2010 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament, teams slowly bowed down one by one until only 4 college basketball teams remain.
Out of the original 65 teams all over the USA that started the March Madness, four teams stood tall above all them.
They are the NCAA Final Four 2010 teams.
And they will be battling it out for supremacy over the right to be called the NCAA champions.

Now that the 2009 defending champions North Carolina Tar Heels failed to make the 2010 NCAA Basketball Tournament, the field is now wide open.
A total of 65 teams were selected for the tournament with the University of Kansas JayHawks as the overall #1 seed. The Syracuse University Orange Men, the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the Duke University Blue Devils are the other #1 seeds for their respective divisions.
