Since today is Halloween, Google is celebrating the holiday with a special doodle with their logo changed to one with a candy which looks like a jack-o-lantern.

Instead of the traditional “trick or treat”, Google has devised its own “click or treat” as upon clicking the logo, more candies appear.

Aside from Google Adsense, another money-earner for this site is Chitika.
Chitika is one of the largest search-targeted advertising networks. Their ads only appear to visitors coming from the search engines especially those from US and UK. To see what a Chitika ad looks like in this site, check this out.
Unlike Adsense which requires a minimum payment threshold of $100 before they pay you, Chitika only requires $10. You can also have an option for payment by check or by PayPal. I chose the latter.
I applied for a Chitika publisher account last May and integrated their ads to this site. Four months later, I have earned $47.40 from them. Yes, already eligible for a payout.

I first tasted how sweet Google juice is last month with $159.58. I was able to come up with that in 5 months of blogging; from February to July.
However in August, I managed to reach the minimum payment threshold of $100 in only 8 days and by the end of the month, I was bound to receive $278.56 as my 2nd payout from Google Adsense. That amount was buoyed by the $172.19 I made in only 1 day.
So when Google sent me the control number last Thursday (pictured below), I immediately went to the nearest Western Union branch and get my money. In peso, I got P12, 961.32 (exchange rate is $1=P46.6).

My first ever post at this site was titled “The Ark Is Now Ready To Sail!” I pictured out myself as an ark carrying worry-free thoughts and now ready to sail into a new world… a world of making money online.
At first, I was a bit skeptical asking “How can a web site particularly one focusing on blogs attract at least 2,000 visitors and make at least $20 per day?” I have read various success stories but could not help myself wondering if I can also do it. I realized that in order for me to find out, I should try it. From those stories, I found out that search engine optimization (SEO) is the key. I should optimize my blog posts in such a way that I rank high in the search engine results pages (SERPs) for specific keywords.

It was just last night when I checked my Adsense account when I realized that Google had already sent me the Western Union money transfer control number (MTCN) for my first payout. Yippee! Akala ko sa 30 pa, first time ko kasi eh.
Below is the screen shot. Yes, my first payout is $159.58. I got that after 6 months of blogging at this site. My old site was really not intended for making money online so I have not earned anything from it. Anyway, I originally thought that I’ll reach the minimum $100 payment threshold in 10 months but thanks to some “sizzling hoottt” keywords, napaaga ng 5 months.

I have been blogging for almost two years now. My first motivation was really to share to others random thoughts culled from the deep recesses of my existence. But there came a point where I decided to monetize my blogs. Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon, kailangan may extra income. I buy and sell NBA trading cards online but I don’t make much as I’m also a collector and what I earned, I buy for my own collections.
So this February, I invested in a new domain and started making SEO posts. However, I still mixed it with posts of my personal stuffs like my wedding chronicles series and my action figures. After 5 months, I made my first Google Adsense $100. Then on August 9, Sunday, I made a total of $212.16 from Google Adsense, Infolinks and Chitika. Wooo! Ang saya-saya! Feeling ko, nasa top of the world ako!
