After being ranked as 57th on last year’s list, Manny Pacquiao is two notches higher on this year’s Forbes Celebrity 100 list at #55.
The Forbes magazine is one of the most famous business magazines in the world and is well-known for its lists. Its Celebrity 100 is its annual list of famous and financially influential celebrities in the field of entertainment and sports.
Talk-show host Oprah Winfrey regains the top position which she held for two consecutive years from 2007-2008 before being knocked-off last year by Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie who dropped to #18.

Forbes has just released its list of The World’s Highest Paid Athletes. Each athlete’s salaries, bonuses, prize money, endorsements and licensing income between June 2008 and June 2009 were considered. When the final tally was made, it’s no surprise that Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao is in that list. After all, his last two fights against Oscar dela Hoya and Ricky Hatton have both raked-in millions of dollars in ticket, merchandise and pay-per-view sales.

The accolades being thrown Manny Pacquiao’s way just keep coming.
After beating Ricky Hatton via a 2nd round knockout last May 3, he was included in Time Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People List. His status as the most famous Filipino in the world today is further cemented when the boxing icon also made it to the Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list.
