Quick! Who was the last man to defeat Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao inside the boxing ring?
Yes it’s Mexican legend Erik “El Terrible” Morales.
On March 19, 2005, Morales mustered a tactical fight with Pacquiao for 12 rounds winning via Unanimous Decision. In mockery of the current pound for pound king and WBO welterweight champion, he even brawled and turned into a southpaw stance with Pacquiao in the final round even though he is comfortably ahead on the scorecards. In the end, the Filipino was a sorry sight with blood trickling from above his right eye.
But that was a long time ago. In their next two bouts, Pacquiao exacted his revenge winning via 10th round TKO on January 22, 2006 and 3rd round TKO on November 18, 2006. Morales has since retired after suffering defeat from the hands of David Diaz on August 4, 2007 and failing to become the first Mexican boxer to win a fourth world title in four weight divisions.
