After 36 rounds, Manny Pacquiao still could not put away his arch-nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez for good.
And just like their previous two meetings, this third fight was without controversy.

In a boxing event billed as “Warriors”, the the number four pound-for-pound boxer in the world Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez defends his WBA, WBO and The Ring lightweight championships against top challenger Michael “The Great Rocky” Katsidis.
The two warriors will meet on November 27, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
In a a matchup that was considered as “Fight of the Year” for 2009 by Ring magazine and ESPN.com, Juan Manuel Márquez defeated IBO Lightweight Champion Juan Diaz last February 28, 2009 to win the vacant WBO lightweight and WBA Super Lightweight titles.
In the early rounds, Diaz appeared to be winning the fight, pinning Marquez on the ropes and occasionally staggering him with big left hands. But Marquez worked slowly his way into the fight and was able to cut Diaz in the eye with a punch in the 8th round. In the 9th round, “Dinamita” was able to knock down the “Baby Bull” twice until the referee stopped the fight.
The Marquez vs Diaz 2 fight is one of the most anticipated boxing events of the year.
The first time Juan Manuel Marquez and Juan Diaz met inside the ring, their fight was named as “Fight of the Year” for 2009 by Ring magazine and ESPN.com.
It will be no surprise then if their rematch on July 31, 2010 will again be considered for the award for 2010.
