After the series of trailers used to advertise Kobe Bryant’s movie titled “The Black Mamba”, the ‘movie’ finally had its world premiere on Saturday, February 19.

It was released in conjunction with the NBA’s All-Star Weekend festivities.

The six-minute movie is actually a commercial for Kobe’s new line of shoes, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI.

Kobe Bryant The Black Mamba movie trailers

As part of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend festivities on February 19, the day before the All-Star Game at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA, Kobe Bryant will become the first athlete to have a hand and foot print ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood [NBA.com News].

He is not a Hollywood actor but that is set to change because Kobe had filmed a “movie” with Bruce Willis, Kanye West and Machete star Danny Trejo. It was directed by the renowned Robert Rodriguez.

Lebron James’ New Nike Logo

Most basketball fans know that Lebron James is now plying his trade in South Beach after a much-publicized decision last summer.

However, many still don’t know that starting this 2010-11 NBA season, he had changed his jersey number from number 23 to number 6 too.

I myself, sometimes forgets that. Well, I blame this to the fact that Lebron was widely considered as heir apparent to the original number 23, Michael Jordan that people now also associate him to that number.

New Nike “Boom” Ad Features Manny Pacquiao

Shoe giant Nike has a new series of advertisements titled “Boom”.

The “boom” catchphrase is supposed to signify that one moment in time where all you can do is just say, “boom!”

“Eureka!” might also work but that’s too old-school.

One of the athletes featured is pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.

Guy Dupuy Who?

I have never heard of Guy Dupuy except today. A quick scan at Wikipedia returns nothing.

But due to an amazing dunk he was able to perform at the London’s Nike Midnight Madness, Guy Dupuy has become a phenomenon. To basketball fanatics at least.

Here’s the video of his between-the-legs, off-the-bounce dunk he performed over somebody. What’s more amazing is the guy is only 6’3″.
