At the end of 5 rounds of their first encounter at UFC 104, when Mauricio “Shogun” Rua challenged Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida for his light-heavyweight championship crown; the fight was awarded by all three judges to Machida scoring it 48-47.

That decision was met with controversy as many felt, Shogun should have won. However as proven time and again, in a close fight, it is the champion or the more known fighter that is usually awarded the win (see Couture vs Vera).

The sport of mixed-martial arts is rough.
But after all that banging and trying to kill your opponent (OK, not really), each fighter is expected to have grace in defeat. There’s no room for unsportsmanlike behavior in a sport still trying to gain mainstream acceptance (see the Strikeforce brawl).
At UFC 113 last May 8, 2010 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Paul Daley did a big no-no that might jeopardize his UFC career.

At UFC 104, Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida successfully defended his UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship belt against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua wnning by unanimous decision and with a score of 48-47 from all three judges.

However, that decision was highly disputed and controversial because many fans and writers felt that the win should have gone to Rua.
Notable MMA personalities like UFC president Dana White, UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta, Randy Couture, Royce Gracie, Rashad Evans, Wanderlei Silva and Rampage Jackson to name a few also stated they felt that Rua won the fight.

After his successful UFC debut, one in which Kevin Ferguson, more famously known as Kimbo Slice showed his improvement in the ground game, he is back still raring to prove to doubters that he belongs in the UFC.
In his first fight inside the Octagon with Houston Alexander in the The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights finale, fans were surprised at how he added some wrestling to his brawler-type fighting style slamming Alexander with a back suplex in the 2nd Round. He won via Unanimous Decision and failed to knock-out Alexander but that’s because “The Assassin” was just contented of circling Kimbo.
Fellow TUF 10 alumnus Matt Mitrione (1 win-0 loss) is looking to foil that plan. Nicknamed as “Meathead” by his coach Rashad Evans, Mitrione knocked-out fan favorite Marcus Jones in the 2nd Round of their encounter.
