A UFC legend falls in Vancouver, Canada.
UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell may have fought his last inside the Octagon after a devastating knockout blow from Rich “Ace” Franklin in the main event of UFC 115.
The blow landed on Liddell’s mouth and badly split his lip, almost down to the chin.
Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell wants to knock Tito “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Ortiz out for the third time.
However, after having to grudgingly deal with him in The Ultimate Fighter 11 show for weeks, his chance vanished when The Huntington Beach Bad Boy revealed in Episode 10 that he has a neck surgery that requires immediate surgery.
One of the undercards for UFC 115 features one of the assistant coaches for reality TV series The Ultimate Fighter Season 11, Tyson Griffin.
Carlos “Natural Born Killer” Condit (24 wins-5 losses, 10 KOs / 13 submissions) formerly fought in the UFC’s sister promotion, World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC), where he was the final WEC welterweight champion and also competed for Pancrase. He holds notable wins over Frank Trigg, Brock Larson, and Renato Verissimo. He is currently ranked the #11 welterweight in the world by Sherdog.
One of the undercards for UFC 115 is a battle between two heavyweights who had just lost their respective UFC debuts.
Paulo Thiago (13 wins-1 loss, 2 KOs / 8 submissions) from Brazil is often ranked among the top ten welterweights in the world by leading mixed martial arts publications. MMA Weekly currently ranks him at # 6, while Sherdog currently ranks him at # 5.
His last fight was against Mike Swick at UFC 109 where he won via submission due to a brabo choke. It was named Submission of the Night.
